MERC : Shadow Knight Origin

Antiquity Films asked me to work with them on their latest comic book movie adaptation entitled ‘MERC : Shadow Knight Origin’. The story is set in the not-too-distant future where genetically enhanced mercenaries are used to fight wars, and killing for money is a respectable profession – just like in real life!

The animation for the title sequence takes us through the back story of our hero being tragically separated from his father at a young age, but with the help of his uncle’s training he becomes a great mercenary. For inspiration on the piece we looked at the titles for movies like 300 and Kick Ass.

Of course, no action movie is complete without a high-octane trailer which I was also asked to design. To bring it all together, I authored a DVD complete with a looping animated menu, video tracks for the original version of the film, the director’s cut, the trailer, and an earlier ‘MERC’ film.
